Century Pines Golf Course - A Kaneff Course

I'm playing at Century Pines today. It's one of Kaneff's six courses in the GTA/Niagara area.

I've played the course 2 or 3 times before, but not within the last year. It's not a bad golf course, but there are a couple of spots where you feel very cramped with the tee blocks of 2 holes close to each other and a third hole's fairway. You have to be very conscious of what's going on around you.

My buddy got us a good deal today for our 3:08 tee time - $45 green fees (very cheap for the GTA) that includes shared cart, range balls, hat, and a bottle of water! I'm impressed.

Century Pines was the main haunt of
Moe Norman during his last years with us. For those who don't know of Murray "Moe" Norman, read this article by Jason Zasky entitled "The Greatest Golfer The World Has Ever Known". That should answer all your questions.

This round of golf should be interesting. I had a friend (golf pro & instructor) take a look at my swing last week and he totally changed my mechanics. I haven't hit any balls since then, so I don't know what what's going to happen.
Ugh.

I'll report on my thoughts on the Century Pines one year later and how my round went on my next entry.
