Interesting Developments

I received an interesting email last Friday from FAO - Food and Agriculture Organization. I applied for a position back in September 2006, but hadn't heard from them prior to my accepting my current job with Dundas Software.

It seems I forgot how slowly the UN can be when dealing with recruiting. When I originally worked for DPKO - Department of Peacekeeping Operations, I had submitted my application in May 1996 and received my first indication of interest in November 2006 - 6 months. (This application has taken 6 months before I heard from them).

FAO's email stated that I'm still in the hunt and that they are going to create a short list and if I make that list, I will be contacted for an interview (phone).

It could be interesting to think we could find ourselves in Rome. I can easily imagine how many visitors we'd get!!
