The First Day

Well, the first day of my new employment has come and gone.

As can be expected, you'll never really be expected to do your job on the first day, as there is so much to get organized - benefits enrollment forms, pay forms, security passes, parking passes, computer setup (which will never be 100% right), and then reading all about your duties and responsibilities.

Before you know it, it's time to go home for the day.

One thing I was worried about was the commute. I left home at 0620 and got into the office building at 0705. Not bad, 45 minutes. I was expecting the drive home to be worse because I was leaving smack dab in the middle of rush hour, but even though I left at 1715, I was home at 1810 ... 55 minutes!! I'm quite content with that. Round trip travel is roughly 95 kms.

Tomorrow, once my puter is setup with the proper admin priviledges and software, I'll be shown the Maximizer - the company's Customer Relation Management program - and how we conduct sales.

Once I've learned that, I'll start earning commissions against any and all completed sales! Let the money roll in!!
