Some Good News

Well we actually got some good news today.

My best half landed herself a job as a Receptionist/Admin Assistant for DPI Foods - a company that's been voted as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies. She went in for an interview today and within 10 minutes she'd been offered the job.

She starts her job tomorrow.

Good pay, benefits, and a bonus structure. I know that she won't be in that job too long, as she can offer the company so much in so many different areas. They're bound to notice this too and will look to use her in a great capacity - most likely in a marketing-styled job.

As for her personal company, that's not dead ... it's just dormant at the moment.

As for me, my buddy's company is finally in receipt of the RFP (Request for Proposal) from the government and has this week to respond to it. I'll be meeting my buddy tonight so I can look at it and help them respond. Finally.

Let's see - Poker. Played twice last week and despite not getting any cards, I fared quite well. I didn't make the final table either night, but I really grinded it out, so felt good about things. Maybe this week will see some progress.

Aside from that, that's about it. I'm putting out resumes daily - one for a Purchasing Manager's job with GlaxoSmithKline in Mississauga today and ne to Surrey, BC with Kodak Graphic Communications (formerly Creo, Inc.) on Friday for a Vendor (Purchasing) Manager's job. One of the Head Hunters that I'm registered with called me on Friday to ask if they can forward my resume to West Monroe Partners, as they're looking for 3 consultants with experience in Supply Chain Management and Procurement. That's me!

Then again, there's still Rome with the UN - FAO. That officially closes tomorrow.
